The weather is getting cooler and calls for soup! This one is super easy, and very satisfying – creamy and flavourful with a little bit of heat. Enjoy!
While the boyfriend is away, the girlfriend will… get inspired and spend a Saturday night in sweatpants making DIY art. Thought I was going to say play, didn’t you?
We’ve been “playing” way too much lately; with a slew of weddings, birthdays, general summer events and our always looming renos I’ve been fairly absent as a Experimental Housewife, my apologies! So last night, with Cody in Toronto at another wedding, I channeled my single days and got crafty, I really hope you like it!
Our spare bedroom is nicer than our room at this point, and acts as my dressing room, however it’s relatively devoid of art. I had some old 16×16 square canvases that were covered in fabric from previous decor (also an easy option to create some quick art) and decided I was going to instead cover them with some sticky back shelf liner that I actually had from a previous project when I covered a steamer trunk which is now our coffee table (I’ll add that to the blog soon too). My husband loves to bbq, enough said! If there’s a way he can make a meal onto the grill, then he’s happy. Summer pretty much means at least one meal a week is bbq’d. Pretty soon this will be at least one crockpot meal a week.
It’s the last long weekend of the summer and after my husband and his friend attended the Vancouver Whitecaps soccer game, I had a few friends, plus my husband and our friend Mike, over for mexican style stuffed peppers.
A great week night dinner as well as they are simple and delicious and can be easily adapted to fit what’s in your cupboards.
It’s nearing the end of blueberry season here in Vancouver, so have been stock piling and freezing for the fall/winter months ahead. I had a few cups of blueberries left over so thought I’d whip up some muffins the other morning.
It happened again, I went to my parents place last Saturday for some “quality time” and went garage saling with my mom. I got these two great bracelets. I think they are real snake? and copper. So far my arms haven’t turned green.
I made a mistake and broke the first rule of garage saling. What is it again? Never pay full price. Well I did. A whole $2 for both. Hey big spender!
